Default Seat control problems

I purchased a 99 vert about a year ago for my wife. I found that the seat controls for the driver seat don't all function as intended. The seat moves front to back and up and down but the other controls don't work. I hear the motor running but the air bags do not inflate and adjust the seat. The previous owner was a large guy and the bolster showed a bit more wear than I expected after only 17500 miles. What's broken and how can I fix it? Passenger side is OK. I am considering replacing the seat covers and perhaps repairing the problem at that time. Found the answer in the tech section. thanks Please deleat.

Sounds like your lumbar sacks/bladders arn't working ( Filling with air) They can be replaced with a liitle seat work, but I don't believe it's a major problem.

My 2003 recently needed the "Easy Entry/Exit" function stopped working, well on and off at times. Sure am glad I had the GMPP extended warranty on it. Dealer cost to repair it was $2100.00 !

sounds like the bladders are not working or leaking. Not sure if you can just buy new ones of those or not. Not sure on the fix. I have the opposite problem. My bladders work but my seat motor is dead.

good luck.

I've got a similar problem where one control will activate the easy exit feature and the other one will not. The seat will work manually with no problem. I've replaced the key fob and apparently it may be within the key fob since the original fob works the seat properly. Do you know if they may (easy exit) tied in with the key and not the key fob? The key is also a replacement key but both items appear to be OEM parts. Maybe I should try shooting contact cleaner into the ignition area and cleaning the key?

Sounds like the bladders, do a search and you will find some very clever repairs done with blood pressure cuffs and the like. You will not like the price for OEM parts (which might cause your own bladder to let go).

OK, yes this is something I really know the answer. Once you have either lost a FOB and you got another or whatever. But what you need to do is go and buy three 'New" batteries. They are 'CR2032 3volt' and install all three in the fobs and then go to the dealership, and they will synchronize all three of the fobs to send the same signal to open the doors and the seat memory function. Keep in mind, that the PCM changes the signal it recieves every few milliseconds which is the normal function of the anti-theft system.

PS: you might want to have the dealership 'Reflash' your Corvettes PCM to make sure all software updates have been installed on the powertrain control module.
