We need more info, Like what do you call over heating?
The LS1 in the Corvette does run on the hot side, It is very comon to see temps over 200 in the summer.
no my car after driving so much it goes all the way to like 275 285 and then i shut it off . have to let it sit for 30 mins or so then it it goes back to 220

Thats what I was thinking, I know when I first changed my T-Stat I took it for a drive and no time at all it was getting very hot. I had to burp the system and it has been fine since.
Make sure cap is in good shape.
Start w/ a cold engine
Remove rad. cap
Idle for 1 minute
Install cap
Cycle RPM from idle to 3000 until coolant reaches 210F
Shut off engine
Remove cap
Start engine
Idle for 1 minute
Install cap
Cycle RPM from idle to 3000 until coolant reaches 210F
Shut off engine
Remove cap
Top off
