I read (somewhere) that GM offered an X-pipe to replace the H pipe on the exhaust system. Can anyone confirm this? If so, was it offered pursuant to a TSB? I'm hoping to find a way to get one onto my car under NASA TT rules.
Interesting. Have you contacted your local dealer about it? That thread talks about a muffler shop modification to the oem cross over pipe as well as a "replacement" H pipe.
Try this to find GM technical service bulletins. Do a GOOGLE search using "gm tsb search" as keywords. There are multiple hits. Not knowing what year you're specifically looking for, I used "2003 chevrolet corvette" as keywords on this site and found lots to read. You can change the keywords to your specific year...
" Re: H Pipe Jingle
Lemans;
There is a TSB that replaces the entire H-Pipe. I had it done years ago when it came out. Solved jingling problem--for the most part. The problem is that the "H" connector piece on the factory pipe was not the full diameter of the pipe. The TSB addressed this with the replacement H pipe with full internal diameter. Go talk to your local dealer. A search here and on other Vette sites will get you the TSB number.

Anyone know what the replacement pipe looks like?
I have this deceleration rattle/jingle as well. I'm planning to get an aftermarket mid-pipe after I get brakes/rotors and some miscellaneous fluids changed.
Had my factory H pipe replaced with the replacement H pipe under warranty. Looks the same to me but did solve the jingle noise. I am one of the few that like the motor boat and popping sounds....plus still unemployed so an X pipe is not gonna happen.
There was a TSB for a jingle noise in the ti mufflers. replacing the h pipe with an x-pipe fixed the issue. The TSB calls for a Corsa x-pipe to be installed. it is not a gm x-pipe.

I recall reading this TSB.
There is another aspect to this problem that we need to keep in mind. The stock GM H-pipe also has a problem with the tangs that hold it to the hanger springs. Most of the time, they're too long or of unequal length which causes the springs to be loose and rattle. I went with a Corsa x-pipe which not only has a smoother exhaust path but also has shorter tangs. When installed, the hanger springs are much tighter eliminating any chance that they rattle.

Thanks.
Well the only one I can think of is on the C6's but never on the C5's -
I own 98 vert and a 99 coupe. I went to my local muffler shop and had them modify the H pipe. GM only puts a 3/4" at best hole for the crossover to work. On the 99 the holes were really offset from each other. The shop dropped the exhaust pipes from the headers, took a 2 1/2"hole saw, drilled a hole on the side where the H pipe connected and drilled out the H pipe to the full size. Then they welded the portion they drilled out on the side back on. This elimated the popping sound, and improved performance for $45.
