Does your cruise control do this??
Let's say I'm driving along the highway with the cruise control set to 65. I decide that 65 isn't really the speed I'd like to drive, so I give it a little more gas until I'm at 70. I press the SET button, and the CC is supposed to change its setting to the new speed, 70.
Instead, it reduces the old setting to 64. So when I release the gas, the car drifts down to 64. (Just what the person I just passed expects, no doubt!)
I know a quick tap is supposed to drop one's setting one mph, but if you're already going faster than the CC is set, it's supposed to remember that according to the manual:
speed. The speed will not begin to increase
until sufficient pedal travel is achieved. Press the
SET button at the end of the lever, then release the
button and the accelerator pedal. You will now
cruise at the higher speed.
I had the entire left control stalk replaced a while back for the same problem, and it worked for a while; now it's back. Has anyone else seen this?

(ps:I already know I can tap the brakes or turn the CC off/on. But I shouldn't have to do that.)
.
Goal: While the CC is engaged, accelerate to a new speed, press the SET button and have the CC hold at that new speed.
Results: One of the following:
- The CC will set to the new speed. (good)
- CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGED will appear in the DIC, then the new speed will display. (good.)
- The CC set speed will decrement one mph. (bad.)
I've even held the SET button for several seconds, and upon release, it just drops one mph.

I thought the set button originally sets the cruise speed, but until the cruise is released the set button just bumps the speed down and the resume/accelerate bumps the speed up from the original setting.
