Just bought a 2001 c5 automatic transmission. It has corsa exhaust already. Its got 245/30/20 in front and 285/30/20 in rear.
questions:
1: It has stock air box right now. Do you think after-market air intake will increase performance with corsa full exhaust?
2: Tires are very low profile. Do i need to switch to factory size for comfortable ride? i got wheel protecion coverage but they are very prone to get damaged due to low profile
You'll notice some gain and sound difference with a differnt intake. If it were me I wouldn't worry about new tires until those are worn out. Congrats on your new car!

The intake helps, just keep it simple like the K&N or Halltech setup. I really like Corsa, they sound great. I think 20's is overkill, I would sell them and get a nice set of 18's and 19's. The more profile tire the more comfort. And I really don't think you will sacrifice any performance if you got a little higher profile near stock.

i tried air intake system in my previous car(350z) but i lost low end torque. Does corvette loose low end power with air intake?

I havent looked at any before and after dynos, but I would say in my experience, if any low end power is lost it is minimal compared to the midrange and top end power you will gain. Also, I dont know what area you live in, but look into a shop that can dyno tune or at least mail off your ecu to get tuned. Intake and a tune will keep you happy for a while. Welcome to the obsession
congratulations on the new car. i know you will like it. i would change up to a standard tire size and maybe go with the larger tires and wheels suggested by n8dogg. but being the cheap person that I am, I would wait until the tires were worn out, or I could not stand the ride any longer.
You have to use photobucket or other host site..i really dont understand this since all the other forums you can just add attachmnets and browse photos from ur computer..anybody know why this is?.

I did not loose anything after I installed my intake, as far as gaining not much of a difference. I also had a 350 Z before I got my c5 several months ago. Now i regret that decision very much. 350 Z with several mods would be almost as quick as c5 stock auto, much better cornering, more nimble car, but what is most important it was a reliable car!!!
Good luck to you and I hope you will not end up as i did.

why do you regret your decision? Every 350z owner i know wants to upgrade to a corvette. 350z 6mt was really hard to drive in city. Clutch engagemnt was too high. Very hard to drive in stop and go traffic

I have to agree with you that it is hard to drive it in the city and I experienced that thoroughly because my was m6. Despite this fact, 350Z had excellent handling, no traction control, active handling, or other complicated electronics that cost more to repair than they worth. Also, now I realize that it is not all about straight line performance. All I had a injen cat back and injen CAI and the car felt and sounded like a PURE sports car whereas c5 feels to me more like a muscle car that is very boring to drive with A4. Manual corvette with low miles is a different story.
Personally I am planning on trading my c5 for a brand new 370Z as soon as I save enough money. I Went the other day to test drive it and was very impressed. With a few slight mods that car would break under 13 sec 1/4 mile easily.

Yes, an aftermarket air intake should help a bit. I'm running a Blackwing and like it.
As for the tires, switching to a higher profile tire would help the ride - perhaps go to an 18/19, 18/18 or back to a 17/18 setup. You could sell the current wheels/tires and recoup some of the cost.
