In a little debate with another forum member...thinking of removing my side moldings on my 04 machine silver z. he also likes the no molding look but has me worried that I will cause paint damage or it will be a paint color difference from where the molding used to be...taking a poll what was your experience? Good or bad?

You might not get many people responding to your poll and one person's experience regarding paint probably won't reflect everyone's experience. If you find an issue, put it back on or address the issue.
You can get more information in C5 Tech. Use search or search this forum (in the red banner) with keywords "remove body side moldings" or "body side moldings" or similar...

Can't stand BSM. Back in 2004 before I drove my CE ZO6 out of the Chey dealership I had it removed. Easy to remove...why would anyone keep it? Door dings? Just park a few feet away and walk. It looks like S**t The C6 doesn't have it and I'm guessing the C7 won't as well. Looks dated! JMO

I have them and I do agree on parking further away to prevent harm to the car. HOWEVER, the C6 does have an option to have them installed, so your statement about them not having them is not entirely true. I think the reason we do not see them is because folks may have learned their lesson with them.
I am don't care either way, I have had three C5s and two had them and one did not. What ever, I have thought of removing them, but not to worried about it if they stay.
Thanks guys! I've searched this topic before just figured id throw up a poll to help with my decision....door dings are a bitch but as low as my vette is a truck can easily ding the upper portion of my door so I will take my chances for the look and park farther away to help...more input guys and post inthe poll!
