Just got my car running after sitting for about 6 months. There had been about 1/8 of fuel in the car since sitting. I put in 4gal of 93/2gal of E85 in the car. The car ran fine for the first 3 days until yesterday. My low fuel level light displayed on the DIC. I went to Chevron and put in about 5 gallons of 93 and drove to my buddys house and then home.
Later that day, I go out to my car and start it and begin driving away and then it dies. I try cranking it and it starts but before it can find idle, it dies. I crank it again and it briefly finds idle and it dies. I can hear the fuel pump humming when I turn the ignition on and the car has no problem cranking, but it will not stay running. I tried pressing on the gas pedal, but the car dies. I'm thinking since my car has been sitting for 6 months and with me putting in the e85, I thinking the e85 might have dissolved some junk in my tank and clogged my fuel filter. My fuel filter has about 60k miles. What do you guys think, fuel pump or the fuel filter?

My opinion,,,go for the fuel filter first!! #1,,you have 60K on the filter,,probably pushing it when #2 you threw in that bit of E85,,and large concentrations of ethanol is known to "clean out" fuel systems!! A filter is the least expensive rout to go,,and the most likely suspect!! Look at it this way,,even if you do end up having to go to a new pump,,you wouldn't want it working with an old filter anyhow!! I'm not much of a betting man,,but I'd put a small wager on filter!!

Say good-by to most of your major fuel components. Not only did you put it in the car, but then you let it sit. Sort of like letting a bottle of leaking alcohol sit on a new wood dresser.
It sounds like you were trying to use the E85 to stabilize the gas.......Should have used a bottle of regular gas stabilizer.
