Within the past week I saw a thread on testing coolant with a Volt-Ohm meter. Can anyone direct me to it? I did a search and looked in tech tips to no avail.

Thanks in advance.

Default Never measured resistance but if it looks murky replace it

That 150000 mile Dexcool myth is just that. Mine looked bad at 50k and I flushed the system with clean water until it ran out of the radiator clear. Also pulled the fill overflow bottle and cleaned it out as much as posible. Color and clarity are a good clue to when it needs to be changed not the GM recommendation. Old Dexcool will ruin your engine. 2 gallons of new coolant are much cheaper than an engine rebuild.

If you read the owners manual you will find that the coolant needs to be changed at 150,000 miles OR 5 years which ever comes first. It is NOT good for just 150,000 miles if it takes more than 5 years to go that far.

I remember reading it also. I found the note I had written on it and the + lead went into metal part of radiator and the - in the coolant itself. A reading of .2 v is good, .5 is marginal and .7+ coolant has failed.
