New User - 60k on Z06?
As a 30th birthday present my boss (aka wife) has agreed to let me get a Vette. I drove a 2003 Z06 and a 2005 Z51 back-to-back today, and I have to say, the Z06 felt much more raw to me, and quite a bit faster (maybe it's just me.) And the sound just about stuck my face in a permanent smile.
I found a decent looking used one at a local dealer (2003) for 23k, but it has 60k miles on it. Is that too much for a Z06? I can spend a little more (maybe 25-6), but most of the lower mileage examples I find are 28-30k. At that price, just due to the newness of the vehicle I am hesitant not to get the C6 (although manuals are nearly impossible to find here in the Northern Virginia/DC area.)
Input/Advice appreciated!

BTW, Hands down the ZO6 over a 2005 C6.

I bought my '02 Z 2.5 years ago for $25,300 with 43K. Asking price was $30,000. Negotiate. I went to dealership with a pre approved financing from my bank. so to them it was like i was paying cash. they didnt have to any paper work.

For comparison I'll say the my '01 with 68k miles feels and looks like it did 4 years ago with 43k miles.
C5s age very well. And this forum can help you repair pretty much anything yourself.

I have to agree with many of the other posts.
It's like during hunting season for hunters... Everyone wants a 4x4.
I think you should hang tough, be patient and keep looking.
Car Fax, paperwork, tires, clutch, wheels... If the one you looked at has some extras? Those weigh in too.
Good luck.

Thanks for the advice folks. The one I found is at Carmax, which probably explains the price, but; for like $1800 they offer a 5 year 50k mile warranty covering all mechanical and some other stuff.
There is another one I am going to take a look at tomorrow as well. Same mileage/year, listed at 24,900, but I'm sure they can do much better.
Can't get that exhaust sound out of my head!

I just spend several months looking for an 02-04 Z06 in the southern Pa and northern Virginia area - keep looking you should be able to find one w/less miles. And yes - the z is a entirely different from a regular C-5. Find a nice Z-06 and enjoy.
