Default Rearview Mirror?

How the F! do i get this thing off? Car is an 03 Z06... and there is no set screw or anything. I want to take the whole thing off... down to the metal piece glued/stuck to the windshield that it mounts to.

No screw on that one, and be very careful. My window tint guy pulled too hard on my 02 and pulled some of the glass away! It snaps on with good amount of tension.

It takes a flat blade curved tool to release the spring tab, as you pull upward on the mirror. It's pretty easy with the right tool.

A Craftsman #43305 pry bar works great.

You grab both sides of the mirror and rock back and forth while lifting straight up. DO NOT PULL. YOU WILL CRACK THE WINDSHIELD.

Re-installing it, the mirror must snap into place. This part too you run the risk of cracking the windshield. If it doesn't snap into position, it will wiggle loose again.

I would let the window tinter deal with it and work around the mirror.
