Looks sharp. Mine is a manual, and to get mine down I had to sink my hole almost all the way to the underside of the top of the **** I made. Then I had to grind the base of a tap so that I could thread it deep enough.
I like the short look, and it definitely took some getting used to (new shoulder muscles had to be created and worked in) to shift over to 6th, but it looks good.
I have a MGW shifter too, not factory.

I found this one on the web somewhere. I actually ordered two different kinds since I didn't know which one would work. I had to tap the **** about 1/2" to 3/4" more to get it lower.

Mod red is the bright red with red seats like yours. The Firethorn red is the darker red with darker red seats. I've wanted to convert my all black interior over to Mod red 
If i remember right the only car that got Mod Red interior with black seats was the Z06
