Going in late June from Kansas City to Nashville, then to Georgia for four days, then back through Taladega for the Vettes for vets run on the speedway. After that back to Memphis for the 4th of July and then home to KC. Should I do anything special to prepare the car for the journey. It is a 99 coupe and I've had it for three years, currently has 43K miles and I've never taken it on a long trip. I will do all the oil and fluid changes before I depart but is there anything I need give special attention to???
Vette's are meant to be driven so just enjoy the trip!
I have driven the aproximately 25 Vette's I have owned over 500,000 total miles and yes that is over a half a million miles!
A lot of those miles were on extended road trips. Just check all the things you would check on any car such as fluids, belts, hoses and tires.
I will put another 1,700 miles on my 2001 Vert next week and can hardly wait to get on the road again. I have put as many as 5,000 miles on in one month with no problems. I have never owned a Vette that was a garage queen and that includes a 53 and a 57 fuely that were both driven almost daily.
I always have enjoyed driving my vette's and I never have figured out why some just park one in the garage and look at it, they are really missing out on what a Vette is all about and what it was built to do and that's driving it.

Add emergency road service to your auto insurance. It's cheap and could come in handy should you have a flat (unless you have runflats), breakdown, etc.
