I recently got my brakes redone, lines, rotors and pads. The pads are noisy!!! I chocked that up to them being HP+'s not that big a deal, but lately I have had a rhythmic low speed squeal coming from the fronts when I’m not baking, when I depress the pedal the noise stops. Any ideas?
Several things come to mind. 1) The pads are not yet fully seated, how many miles since change? 2) Rotor has too much runout and is rubbing on pad each revolution. A new rotor can have excessive runout. 3) Caliper piston not fully retracting causing pad to stay in contact with rotor. Did the tech clean piston prior to pushing it back into bore ? 4) Frozen caliper slider pin. They need to be well lubed to allow the caliper to float back and forth. Most of the time the tech doing the work takes short cuts and does not properly check out items 2-3-4. Any one of these items could cause the problems you describe.
