Default Z06 Performance

Picked up a 02 Z06 a couple of weeks ago and have some performance/upgrade questions. I always say if it has more then 3 wires going to the motor I'm lost. This car has 20K and the only mods are X pipe, Borlas and a blackwing AC unit. I've restored quite a few big block Chevelles and Camaros but this is a little different. I really don't want to go crazy but would like to wake it up a little more. Don't want to put a ton of mods internally since I'll probably drive it during the summer and turn it in the fall. I also have read on the forums you have to be damn careful who you have tune these. So I guess what I'm asking what's the best bang for the buck on one of these. So is a street tune worth it, headers a clearance problem? I figure you guys would know. Thanks

Headers are a good start. You will probably pick up 10-15hp with a tune over your aftermarket X pipe. Gears are another good mod and really wake the car up.

How about the ground clearance with headers?

Headers, 160 deg thermostat and tune would be a good start then?

Headers and tune first. When the need comes for more then go Heads and Cam or Forced Induction which all require the headers to really work well.

Well I have a set of Kooks 1 3/4 so I'll get those on with the X pipe and get it down to ECS for a tune.

Have an appointment next Wed., I hope I can get the headers on by then.
The problem is the 3" X pipe getting it down to 2 1/2.
