Default C5 M6 problems....help!

Awaiting a paint repair then am putting the vette in the air and fixing 1) leaky butt, 2) check engine light - hose or connection on fuel vapor recovery canaster (yes, its above everything in the rear end), and 3) the synchros on the M6?

I dont know what I will find but here's what happens: It is very difficult down shifting into 1 or 2 when almost stopped, sometimes when I am moving the shifter forward and backwards to get it all the way into first it feels like the clutch has not released the spinning of the drive shaft, 50% of the time it works ok after the engine has heated up.

Could this be 'bent shifter forks? Lubricant problem? Clutch problem?

My C5 is a 97 with 107k miles on it.

Try changing the fluid in the tranny and removing/replacing the clutch fluid as well. Sometimes makes a huge difference.
