Default Sticking clutch

Same problem as many and I am changing fluid and hoping it will clear the sticky clutch.
The problem is some times when it sticks the clutch disengages and there is power to the wheels. Bad at a stop sign or red light! The only way to get it out of gear is turn off the engine and restart. Once the car is in another ger other than low or reverse I haven't had the problem.

If changing fluid doesn't fix the problem, what does installing a new slave cost and should the master also be changed?

Thanks for the help,
thom

It is a big job and will cost you anywhere b/t $600 - $1200, depending on where you go. If you are going to go that route, change out the clutch, slave and master, pilot bearing, etc. while your car is apart. Install a remote bleeder as well.

I would suggest changing out the master to an OEM first, since it can be done within 45 mins - 1 hour and it is not that expensive and a DIY job. See if this solves your problem. I had a clutch change on my old C5 and the shop did everything except the master. I pick up the car and the pedal was stuck to the floor. Changed the master myself and it solved the issue.

Hope this helps and good luck.
