For about a year my car has not charged real well, it would do 12.2 12.5 on the gage and if you put a meter on the Alt it would say 13.7 so pretty weird all the ground points looked good. I don't drive it that much so I did not worry about it and just kept the battery on the tender all the time. Well a friend of mine asked a simple question have you had the Alt bracket off? why yes I have I had it powder coated red about a year ago he said it's not grounding and I ran a little cable over and sure enough we are back to charging like normal so if you get your Alt bracket powder coated make sure you clean the contact points where it mounts to the motor or you will get a pootr ground

I would also recommend doing the "big three" upgrade. This is an old trick the stereo guys have been doing for years. You can do a search on youtube for some good videos. Basically it involves installed three (4 gauge) wires in your car.
1) Battery to chassis (-)
2) Engine to chassis (-)
3) Alternator to battery (+)
You will need some new battery terminals and a couple hours. The two (-) wires are easy and my personal experiance went from 14.1 to 14.5 volts.
