is anyone familiar with the Bloomington Gold Certification process. A friend of mine is going for her certification on her 2004 CE z06 and Im curious as to what areas should be concentrated on.Tks
The BG certification involves the entire car, so it is not really possible to concentrate on any particular area. I recommend making sure the car appears, as much as possible, as it did the day it drove off of the assembly line. Aftermarket parts, highly worn parts and non-stock accessories will likely cause deductions. I have noticed a distinct increase in the certification of C4 and newer cars in the last several years. Best of luck to your friend. Most importantly, enjoy the show!

I'm an NCRS member (you pay an annual fee to be be a member of the National Corvette Restorer's Society)
The current Bloomington Gold registration is sold out... so if anyone hasn't registered yet it's too late.
Also, it's a judging for classic Corvettes typically 25 years or older being as close to factory as possible from what I understand. IF it's open to newer cars I'd say it's a shame. Perhaps there's a new set of categories???
Typically, it's a stepping stone getting a classic car a Triple Crown (NCRS Top Flight, Bloomington Gold, and Chevy Vette Fest Golden Spinner... then giving you the green light to attempt a Triple Crown Certification) which will increase the value on the resale market (because there are judging sheets to show correctness) and add status amongst other classic Corvette guys.
Bloomington Gold Certification is open to ALL Corvettes by class including ones fresh from Bowling Green. Registration opened in February and is now closed. Granted MOST Corvettes at Bloomington Gold are older but there are personal reasons for why I have chosen to have my 04 CE Z06 certified at this time. While Gold Certification will increase the value of my Corvette that is not why I have chosen to do this.
