Does anyone know a good trunk mount luggage rack for a C5 Convertible? I remember the 60's and thought they were a great idea.
Like the man-perms of the 70s, at the time they were a good idea.
I think the luggage rack looks OK on a classic C3, however I don't think the C5 trunk was designed with this mod in mind. However, as always, it's your car. Good luck!
Just the downward pressure from my top, when up, flexes the body panel ahead of the trunk. I doubt the trunk would be any stiffer, and wouldn't support any weight.
On that topic, anyone know an adjustment or fix to stop the top from moving the body lines. Really bugs me.
Apparently they are trying to tell you , that there apparently are NONE. Because of the construction materials of the car. And after all people don't usually buy a sports car to have bags of luggage sitting on the trunk. Our trunks are pretty enough big to hold a weeks supply of clothes in. You just have to use soft bags.
Or have someone make you a custom one. And deal with any structural problems later.
If you think our trunks are small, then you should look at a Solstice or Sky trunk. But driving my Solstice, my wife and I were able to put enough clothes for a weekend trip and still had room for stuff brought on the trip.
And usually new members introduce themselves before they ask questions, even if it is in the same post. So welcome to the forum....
As for the distorted body lines, when the top is in the up position, it actually pushes down on the body panel hard enough to make the trunk lid not match up vertically with the next panel to the front of the car. I have not had a chance to look at this very close yet, so if it is a simple adjustment I'm sorry to waste your time.

Thanks for the help Bill. I had checked Google...but alas you are right. I had planned a cross country trip and truly needed a bit of extra stuff to go with me. I appreciate your help.
