Very interesting. I received a call 2 nights ago from someone claiming to represent Vette Magazine, attempting to sell me a subscription to Vette. I told them that I subscribe to Corvette Fever and didn't care for Vette magazine. She said they also offer Corvette Fever and tried to extend my Corvette Fever subscription. I told her my subscription didn't end until May 2012 and wasn't interested in extending it.
She NEVER told me they were merging and that Corvette Fever would no longer be published.
that sucks. i just got a subscription for Christmas last year and i really enjoy it. just got my August issue the other day, but hadn't heard about them merging until now. no calls yet.
An announcement was made at our corvette club meeting last week that Corvette Fever was being discontinued. Both Corvette Fever and Vette come from the same publisher. I noticed when I received my August issue last week that the cards inside the magazine that normally want you to subscribe or renew were not for Corvette Fever but were for Vette. RIP Corvette Fever.
i just checked out the Corvette Fever website and if you click on subscribe, it takes you a subscription page for Vette. If it's generally the same magazine, i'm ok with it, but they'll have to prove it to me in the next couple months if they want me to subscribe. and i also noticed, Vette is the most expensive of the (now) three major magazines and more expensive than Corvette Fever was last year. I was really looking forward to renewing at Carlisle this year and getting a shirt. oh well. Sorry to see you go Corvette Fever, good luck Vette. hope you can live up to the expectations.
Damn I just subscribed to both Vette and Corvette Fever a month or so ago, waiting for the subs to kick in. Although the place I ordered from seems to be belly up now (www.dotcommags.com) Wonder if I just got hosed all around...
I subscribe to both. I have some old copies from the early to mid-90s of both Vette and Corvette Fever. They both were much better then. I sure don't care for the teeny tiny type both mags use these days.
i would bet they will add the balance of your Corvette Fever subscription to your Vette subscription. so you'll probably have 2 years of Vette.
If you only subscribe to Corvette fever, the balance of your subscription will be transferred to Vette magazine. If you subscribe to both, your Vette Subscription will be extended by the amount of Corvette Fever issues you are owed. The same company, Source interlink, owns both magazines, and from what I've heard, they will combine the best features of Corvette fever with those of Vette.
It should be interesting reading!
