Default Gas Door Issue

Did a search and found a great thread on how to fix it.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...stay-shut.html

Where can I find a place to look up the part number? Want to check GM Parts Direct but need the part number for the assembly. (Solenoid, cable and spring)

Anyone?

Default Help Gas Door and Head Lights

Needs some advise and confirmation from those who have had these issues.... please post and let me know if I am on the right track.

I posted about my gas door issue and have figure out the problem but now that bothersome head light issue has come up.

I need a little confirmation on what I think is happening....

Gas door - there is no pressure on the plunger so I suspect the spring has gone away. Solenoid functions fine so I need to clean cable and replace the spring. The only way I kept the gas door shut was to hold it shut and push the emergency release in at the same time. Am I on the right track?

Headlight - they pop up but when I close them the right motor runs with a grinding sound of gears slipping. I am guessing that the plastic gear has stripped and needs replacement. Again does this sound correct.. I did notice that when I turn my light switch to the first stop, parking lights, the headlight pop up. I am sure they did not do that till this gear issue started. Has the gear thrown off a micro switch or something.

Thanks

If you are mechanically inclined you can order replacement gears for your headlight motor from Rodney Dickman.

Looks like 10275633

Use either Gene Culley at gmpartshouse OR call Bob (1-800-234-5284)at Fichtner Chev. They will have much better pricing and not screw you on shipping/handling.
