It wouldn't be very safe to go that fast anyway. I wouldn't want to go over 150 and that would be dangerous. I would want a roll cage, fireproof suit, neck restraint, helmet, 5 pt harness and a firetruck and ambulance on the scene.
Probably just the right gear, I know a Z06 with the correct gear can hit 200+ but its really quite useless unless you just want to run on on salt lake beds. I don't know if an LS1 can be geared to hit 200, its possible though.
Too many people always concerned about top speed? Top speed is actually quite useless, even people who frequently race their cars on tracks ever get close to top speed. Handling, acceleration and braking is what matters. Ever watch a formula one race? Those cars are practically an airplane on wheels yet they never get close to their top speeds. Nascar is a bit quicker because of the oval tracks yet even they are limited by the track.
Appropriate gearing and the horsepower to exploit that gearing. There are some rarely used long straight highways just a few miles outside of Kenner, La. where I live and we have "gpsed" some Kawi 14s and Busas to the tune of 196mph...but never did it in a car. A purpose built staged nitrous kit for a Corvette might get you there (on the cheap), but what do you do once you arrive?
I've been 160+ in my Z06 (And on my motorcycle for that matter) and it's fun, as long are you have room. I would have went faster in both cases but traffic on the highway got in my way.
