Last time I made an inquiry I only got one response, but it was the right answer.
My C5, M6 did not shift worth a darn so I changed the Dextron tranny fluid and it made a world of difference. No more grinding gears, no more hunting for a gear at stop. I'm guessing that the dextron picks up lots of moisture over time and it changes its properties? Thanks whoever you are!
I have the fluid and filter packs in my A4 changed every 2 years...I drive it every day, not like some garage queens that 600 miles a year, so it figure it is good prevention to keep it well lubed and happy inside...not terribly expensive.....and since I also have the shifts all reprogrammed by my dyno guy, I want to give it every chance to stay alive.
