Hey everybody. The other day I had to turn on the heat to get my windows defoged and now its stuck on full heat I can change the fan speeds ect and I can move the temp selector but no change in temp. when I turn the ac on I hear the compressor kick on but it still keeps throwing hot air whats the cause of this by the way I have the manual HAVC controler

Thanks David

The head unit controls a flap that opens up to the heater core to direct the hot air through the ventilation system. It seems that the flap is stuck in the open position. There are a number of things that can cause this... the control unit, flap stuck, broken tab... Even though its "manual" it still uses electronics.. not like in the olden days with cables and sliders.. LOL. You can reset the unit by unplugging the AC controller and plugging it back in. May be a pain in the butt to open up your console, but have done this in my Envoy... Almost the same GM control system and it fixed the problem... but my AC was stuck on.

Just a thought....

well after tearing the whole dash out I messed with it and now it's stuck on cold lol I'm thinking the control unit is bad cuz otherwise I doubt it would be so intermitant in switching back and forth i.e if the gear in the acutuator we're stripped it wouldn't move at all do yal agree?
