my double din install.
I also got some new tires put on today. WOOT! they are front 275-35-18 general exclaims to match my rear 295-30-20 general exclaims that i got put on 2 weeks ago. They are great tires for the price and they grab VERY well.
Here is the modified radio bezel with ash tray that you can get done by C5 BearsFan

1st i clipped of the tabs that were on my HVAC unit. which are the plus sign looking things right above the mounting holes.

then i ovaled out the holes of the HVAC unit with a drill so i could lower it just a tad.

the top cage you have to cut out with either a drill with an angle driver, A dremel tool, or you can do it the lazy way and just use tin snips...i used a air dremel with some crazy bit i found laying around and it worked WONDERS! make sure you have a shop vac to suck up all the pieces of metal.

here is what i used to cut it out.

here is what it looks like with the top cage cut out. It is also ready for the shop vac to pick up all the metal scrapings.

then it will be a good idea to also purchase a set of double din mounting brackets which you can also get from C5 BearsFan or you can make your own. you will just need to take your time and mount up the double din until it sits perfectly how you like and then for a finished product you will recieve this...

this is a very simplified version of a how to because i decided to do it after i did all the work lol. hope this helps someone out... I wanted to thank C5 BearsFan for his work with the modified double din and the mounting brackets that i purchased from him.

I did the same install a while ago and still love the result. I made my own h/u brackets and modified the door speaker brackets to accept my new Focal component speakers and and crossovers. I posted some pics in the audio section under the C5 FAQ's.

BTW, did you upgrade the stock speakers?
