Default Need a Little Help

I have a link to a DIY topic where the person cut out the front license plate filler and installed a wire mesh screen. I am having trouble locating where I can purchase the screening. I found the door edge protection. Has anyone here done this to their front plate area and if so maybe a little more description on the process. The pictures show the basic project, but did not explain how the door edge molding is held in place or how the screening is attached. Also I believe there is some wiring running behind the area that gets cut out for the air flow to the radiator.

You can find just about any type pf scrteen or metal fabric you want at
http://www.mcmaster.com/#

Door edge moulding usualy is just a pressure fit (just slips over edge), did you buy some and look at it?

And regarding :

"Also I believe there is some wiring running behind the area that gets cut out for the air flow to the radiator."

Im not up on the mod you are doing, but please...put the wire cutters down.....and reread whatever you have, because I dont think you have to cut anything electrical to install a screen in the liscense plate area.

Trust me, I am not planning on cutting any wiring, that is exactly why I mentioned that there may be wiring in the area and I do not want to cut it. If in fact there is, someone that has done the mod would know.

Thanks for the reply

Don't know if you have ramps but if you put it up on ramps, and used a 10mm socket to remove three screws on the rear edge of one side of the liner under the car, you can see right up into the area you will be cutting into.

I didn't think there were any wires behind there, but I just went down and stuck my arm up there, yup, there is a loom secured right behind where you would be cutting (learn something every day ). Should be pretty visible with the under liner pulled back a bit to see.

Good luck with your project.
