C5 Camera mount

Since I got my new video camera for my birthday, I wanted to buy a camera mount.... Most of the automotive mounts that I have seen were way too much $$$$$.....
So I decided to make my own....
I wanted to make a mount that would not require drilling any holes, and could be removed or installed in a short amount of time....
I made my first mount and had some issues with vibration.....
Today I bought some thicker aluminum and made the 2nd mount, and revised some issues I had with the 1st try.....
This is the finished product (minus paint.. thinking of painting it black)
video was taken late evening after a day of rain, and with a dirty windshield...

here is a pic... in the 1st post, there is a link to a video...
the bracket i made mounts to the passenger sun visor holder, and then the bottom uses a threaded bolt with a rubber snubber to adjust pressure against the cup holder...
there is a L bracket that comes off of the main mount and is adjustable, this is what the camera mounts to....
i wanted something that could be removed and installed easily, and did not require any modifications (drilling) on the car...
there is a rubber insulator at the top mount, the bottom mount (snubber) and the camera mount...
this was my 2nd try... the 1st was not sturdy enough, and had camera shake....
it does not interfere with the climate controls, ash tray, shifter or anything... i wanted the camera closer to the windshield so i could make sure it was on and recording.....
just a cheaper alternative to an expensive mount...

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

but it is an impressive use of an otherwise useless cup holder. Aren't you at risk of having Smokey pull you over on suspicion of using a radar detector?
