Installed the Bilstein Sports this morning. Way harder, and more time consuming than I imagined it'd be. They're an improvement over my 50k mile stockers though, so I guess it was worthwhile.

I'm thinking about doing the same change.
Would you consider yourself a wrench head or just someone who isn't afraid to jump in and give something a try? I'm the later and am a little nervous about tackling a job like that. I still may and probably will but it'd be nice to hear what you have to say.
Sort of a wrench head.......I've got all the tools. It's just hard getting the stock shocks out. There's not a lot of room, they want to stay extended, there's 4 different methods of attachment used, etc. They're not engineered to be mechanic friendly I don't think. I dropped a lot of F bombs getting the front ones out.
Well then I'll make sure I'm alone when I change mine out. I'm prone to the F bomb and if the shells are going to be flying no need to have the babies around.
I remember cussing this job. The first shock took three hours, and the last three took about 1 hour for all. I didn't loosen the A-arm, and it's not needed.
Its not necessary if youre strong enough to compress the shock, then yank it out the bottom before it extends back out. Probably a lot easier to just detach the upper A arm.
I did this exact job about a month ago. It took me about 4 hours total. The first one took about an hour and a half and I got faster on each one. I also was replacing my endlinks, so you might expect to go a little faster without doing those. I don't do much work on my car by myself, but this job was pretty straightforward. Search for the McRatt method online and you should find dome decent directions.
