Default Fuel gauge problems

Hey all
Filled up from reserve today and noticed as I was pulling out of the station that the gauge read just over a half tank.

I never have let it get this low before, but life has been busy lately, and I just didn't notice it.

So I watched the gauge while driving home and it slowly went up to full. (about 15 minutes 'till it got there)

I have heard of the dead and slow moving fuel gauge problems before and cannot remember the fix for the fuel additive I need to clear it up.

Help a brother out here guys and gals. Whats it going to take to clear this up?

BTW car is 99' FRC with about 110k on it. No other issues other than it needs to go faster. (working on that )

TIA

Add a can of Techron Concentrate Plus to a tank of gas.

I'm on my 3rd bottle of Techron and hope this does it. But if not, who makes this Seafoam stuff?

I had the EXACT same problem and I put 2 bottles of Techron in my tank and 10 minutes later my gauge started functioning properly. I put a bottle in every other month and I've had no problems for about 2 years now

I'm not sure of the "maker" but you can get it at any parts store and Walmart also carries it. You can also clean your whole motor also with it. Type in "Seafoam" lots of great info here. If you do ingest it into the motor to clean everything up be prepared to see ALOT of smoke. I recommend you do it at night so the fire department doesn't think your area is burning down lol.

This is what it looks

Took me a couple tankfulls of Techron to clear up my issue. One suggestion-get a 20oz bottle and put 1/2 in when you start filling your and the second 1/2 when it's almost full. That will insure that you techron in each of the tanks. I assume that it gets mixed around but this is what I heard on the forum here as a good approach.

All I use is Chevron, and so far, no issues.
