I don't know if you would loose power, but what does that matter? You need to get a patch welded on the hole. Your air lines were not hooked up to the air fitting? This caused a vibration to the point of weld fatigue. If your lines were hooked uo, you need to have the air tube rewelded in place. This all can be done, in place without removing the header. If your not running your lines, it's only a matter of time before the other side breaks. Good luck.

I am using the AIR system hardware, but it is tuned out. Thanks for the reply. I get a lot more popping/backfiring since it broke. I plan to have both sides patched.
Well, yes you CAN have power loss... Here's the issue:
You have 2 sets of O2 sensors. The front bank (bank 1) and the back bank (bank 2).
The back banks are used for emissions, but the fronts are used to make sure you're getting the right air/fuel mix. When you have a header leak or an exhaust leak before the bank 1 O2 sensors, the computer is going to detect a different mix because exhaust gases are leaving the exhaust and not being metered by the bank 1 O2 sensors while fuel and air that is metered are going into the motor.
In this case, your computer may start to richen the mix and you'll lose economy and power at the same time. This would also cause some popping and back-firing.
For what it's worth, I had some issues with my car running VERY rich.. (10.5:1 AFR) and it was popping and farting like crazy. I had it fixed and set to 12.7 (because I have a Vararam) and my car has been running perfectly smooth since. In addition, I went from 22-25MPG on the freeway to 28-35MPG... No joke, it holds 35MPG at 72MPH with cruise control on! Kind of a nice bonus.
