I have the MadVette insulation kit and I was going to wait to install it until later this year (winter) when I perform the rocking seat fix and hopefully install some new leather skins and other interior leather mods.
My next mod is the installation of a DD head unit and some aftermarket speakers/rear sub mount.
My question, is how difficult will it be to install the insulation kit after the rear sub has been installed in the vert storage area? Should I do that section first?
Go ahead and do the sub - you can easily pull it out if you have one of the typical drop-in stealth boxes like mine to insulate under if you so desire later.
The insulation job you're saving for later is . I've done the insulation mod - progressively more agressively each time - and it's not a fun mod project. My suggestion - find some unsuspecting enterprising "yout" you can pay to do it while you "supervise with beer in hand.

That's an interesting option Patches as the stereo installer I will probably work with does offer insulation products. Perhaps I could work out a deal with him to install the kit I already purhased when he installs the stereo.
I know it's probably not fun, however I really try to peform most of the mods myself in an effort to improve "quality control". I also plan to add some extra Dynamat pieces in certain tone-rich areas of the compartment to help reduce the noise even further. If I can pull up the sub and install the sound reduction, that's probably what I will do.

I'd really advise you do both at the same time. You have to gut the interior to do the insulation anyway and the stereo is much easier to cable when all that other crap is out of the way.

Ditto,, dropped the vette off Monday Morning for the stereo install and was wise enough to read you guys post and got a fixed price for install on the vette for the pop up with a old stile eq and amp. $135.00 for both. He didn't even get to the speakers and I"ll finish out those.. Took the poor guy all day. Do both at one time. .....................
PS Sub it out, (pay someone) and go fishing......

First off....THANK YOU for the insulation kit order.
The only advantage to installing your sub box before or during the insulation install would be like "jbondfl" suggested; it would be easier to wire the sub since the carpet will be removed for the insulation install.
Other than that, it wouldn't be any more of a problem either way.
