Picking up a 98 in a week or so and looking for some new shoes. Plan is 20X11's in rear and 19X9.5's up front. Plan on lowering as much as I can on stock bolts. How's the ride with this set up? Feel free to drop some pics and specs of your pride and joy too!! Man......I missed this Forum. Had a 99 FRC that I sold to start a landscaping businees...needless to say I work for Boeing now and miss my Corvette!! Here is pic of my old ride..
I am ready to pull the trigger on new tires and wheels also on my C5. I am wanting to do the 19/20 setup but amd a little unsure if this is the best. Is there any disadvanage to this set-up. I am considering Cray wheels just because they specialize in the correct off set just for vettes. I have had my car only a couple of months and just a little scared to order wheels. Looking for advice also.

I ran a 19/20 setup on my last C5 for about a year - the ride didn't change all that much from the stock tires IMO, but I did worry about the shortened sidewall on the tires, especially the 20's. With the number of potholes we have around here, I was concerned about damaging either the wheels or the tires. However, many forum members run those size wheels/tires and really like them.
The ride is almost identical if the car has runflats. If it already had non-runflat 17/18s, it's gonna ride a little harder. If you get a nice wheel tha doesn't weigh a ton, you'll only have a minimal imact on performance. I ran 17/18, 18/19, 19/19 and finally 19/20. Honestly, the look with 19/20 is so dramatic, it could have rode like complete sheet and I woulda kept it!
To me, the only downside was the brakes look alot smaller!
Thanks Hank and JETZ! Looking at your cars and going through years of old posts... it seems like my mind is made up. Man, can't wait to get my hands on that car Thanks Fellas!!
