Default Seat Bottom Foam Replacement
If I just want to replace the bottom seat foam, do I need to remove the insert or halo portion first?

I do not think you have to remove any of the upper portion of the seat to do the bottoms. But check with the VE web site instructions - they are very detailed on the procedures.

you don't have to remove that part but I can't see replacing just one part either

i replaced the drivers side cushion without touching the seat back.
