You've probably heard it before but I have to tell you... this whole Corvette Forum Family rocks!
While attempting to change my rear marker bulb I assumed access was easy from the side of the trunk. I removed the trunk side carpeting and played with the side vent a little and concluded that was not the way in because of an inability to replaced it in one piece. There are no screws on the outside holding in the rear marker housing. Did I have to take the whole rear quarter off?! How the @$%% was I going to get at that little bugger?
After I cooled down and my thought process returned to normal I did a quick forum search for "replacement of the rear marker bulb", searched the entire posts and spotted the solution on C5 tech.

CF your archived database is a limitless source of information which helps the DIY average guy out enormously. With CF on the computer monitor its like having a group of buddies hanging out in your garage while your working on your Vette!
I can actually see the gray hairs on my head turning back to their normal color...
Yep, this forum rocks! I have a vert and unfortunately, the power antenna motor gets in the way when you try to access the passenger rear side marker through the outer rear tail lamp.
I swapped all my OEM halogens to LEDs and I had to remove the rear passenger wheel and then remove the wheel well panel in order to reach mine.
The Internet has it's good and bad points. Forums like this are the high point for me. CF really helped me in my learning/searching process before I purchased a vette recently. It has since helped me repair and find parts for the few minor things that needed attention!
i love this place. Lots of info and it is interesting to see folks from all over the country working together to share advise and solve issues. Frankly I am surprised to see it work so very well.
Just dont ever try to sell anything on here... because those same folks that helped you with you awesome car will tell you that your car is worth nothing... but they will take it off your hands for you!!!
I found out how to change a front turn signal lamp last month.
Just yesterday, I got the procedure on how to remove the drain pump from my refrigerator from a Google search.
Before the Internet, dummies like me wouldn't have had the slightest idea how to do things like this on our own. Everything would have been taken to the repair shop.
This Forum takes some of the "mystery" out of Corvette ownership-I learned by hanging around for about a year and a half before buying one, that they're not really that hard to work on,but there are certain jobs that have to be done a certain way,or they're going to be a lot harder than they have to be.
The amount of knowledge to be gained here is really amazing, and if you need to do something on your Vette,a little searching the forum will tell you how.
Props to the Moderators also-They do an excellent job of keeping us on task-with occasional reminders of why we're all here-because we love our Corvettes!
