Default trunk lid liner

Guys,

Well, I did it. I pressed a trunk lid liner (recently purchased) into the recessed area of my trunk lid and got it on a little askew. That puppy is on like it's riveted. Am I screwed or is there some way to remove it and reposition properly?

Thanks, Mike

I'm betting it's on there with the 3M adhesive tape? If so....you're right....that stuff will hold on like nobody's business. I'm wondering if you can get some nylon line or fish line started behind the liner and use that back and forth to "saw" it off? That is the right way to go in removing BSM's and it may work in this situation too. If you get enough started you can then use a hairdryer to heat up the tape and get the rest off. Also, you might want to reach out to on the car care forum and see if those folks might not have a suggestion. Wish I could offer more.....good luck.

Wait a few weeks and it will come down on it's own. Mine did. After that I tried every thing I could think of to keep it up there and nothing worked or at least not well.

Everything from the paper backing on the back of the liner tearing loose where it was taped/glued etc. to glue/double faced tape not holding. I even tried industrial strength velcro but even that glue gave way.

Good luck with yours.
