Default Lowering My Corvette Question?

Its currently lowered all the way on stock bolts front and back but as you can see it did not drop that much and is still high up. Aad its been lowered for over 4 months now and have already drove about 1000 miles since its been lowered so i know its not going any lower than this.

Is there anyway to lower it about in inch front and back without going to coilovers? I am guessing c6 bolts, but where do i get them and how do i replace the bolts i have right now with the new ones?

also how much does the ride quality suffer? it noticed it felt a little different after i lowered mine all the way on stock bolts

Remove front adjusters and rear bolts. Buy the aftermarket front adjusters and rear lowering bolts.( Lowering kit for front & rear) Install the new front adjusters and in the rear, use your stock rear bushings with the new rear lowering bolts. Lower the front first. Then proceed to the rear. The front will be the hardest part of the job. Good luck.

I'm serious, if you want it lower you cut about half the front bushing and 3/4 of the rear. Do a search.

You can lower the front by tighting the bolts. In the rear you will have to buy longer bolts. they are available from your typical corvette supplier.

This is with the front bushings/bolts removed all the way and the lowering kit for the rear.

I am putting coil overs on in a week or so that should produce the same look and a better ride and handeling

This is how I lowered. The CCW wheels 18/19, front lowered on
stock bolts, rear lowered on after market bolts. I hope this helps.

I had to use aftermarket front and rear bolts b/c my car looked like yours after I lowered it on stock bolts. Just curious is your car a Z51? If you decide to get the new bolts and want advise on how to do it shoot me a PM. I did the front a little different than most people did it.

You can get a rear lowering kit from just about any big vender like West Coast, Ecklers, Mid America and so on should be aroud 40.00 or so with the poly bushings.

The ride will be very very very stiff when you get this low when you hit a dip in the road you will feel like you are going to eject out of the cockpit. I don't drive my car that much so it's not bad and I love the look. If you want to get low handle much better and the ride quality stays about the same go to coil over shocks and get rid of your composite springs

i might reconsider lowering it then, i do drive mine quite a bit and roads around here are not the greatest, it does not matter how much better it looks if it drives like crap...

If you went w/ an aftermarket kit, front and back, and lowered it all the way, it wouldn't ride too bad. If you were to take the front adjusters completely out, it would ride real rough. You could allways raise it from the lowered position, till you have the ride comfort that you can live with. If you get into the lowering thing, don't forget to install frame & rocker protectors FIRST. Good luck.
