Default Easy question

Here is an easy question for everyone. What is the thing that is plugged into the windshield and is connected to the black strip that goes across the windshield. Mine has become disconnected and I am needing some advice on how to repair it. It looks like it connects by solder. Can I use a specific glue instead of soldering back on?

I don't know about you, but mine is the radio antenna, but then again I have an '01. The only other wiring in that area is the wiring for the lights on the rearview mirror.

That must be it. My radio hasn't been working as good lately.

And there's a kit at most name brand parts stores like NAPA should have it. It works very well and if you follow the directions it is reattached to the glass.

If the actual connector snapped off the trace on the glass you can solder it back on if you're careful and quick. I soldered some broken connectors for the rear defroster on my 01 Monte Carlo and it worked great.

Disclaimer: I have no idea what broke on your car and have no idea if soldering is safe for your specific application.

Only attempt this if you have glass replacement on your insurance.

Dr. Girlfriend, lol, it is the connector that broke off. There is still a rectangle with two circles attached to the glass. The other piece also has a metal rectangle with two circles on it so I need a way to connect them back up.

Is your's a Z06, can't tell from your profile?

Opps I should have included FRCs too. Z06's had a fixed antenna and FRCs had the windshield antenna. I believe most auto parts stores carry repair kits.

That is your FM antenna, as some have said.
