some have reported the failures below also:
For the 97-00 there was also a battery acid seep issue which caused
Electrical demons and an A/C vacuum line failure which kept the a/c vent dampers from functioning.
Parking brake that won't hold due to weak brackets at the rear or not being adjusted.
non functional reverse lights (caused by a bad switch)
creecking noises from Targa top
97-99 used a different head light access cover which likes to "launch" and disappear.
The previous owner may have installed polyurethane sway bar bushings. The squeaking sound may be the sway bar where it contacts the poly bushings. Remove the bushings and clean everything very well; the bushings, mounting area, bushing brackets, and the swaybar. Apply 3 or 4 layers of teflon tape to the swaybar where it contacts the bushing. Make sure there are no creases in the tape. Keep it flat and end the layers in the center so that the loose end is covered by the bushing and won't come loose.Tighten everything to specs. Just a suggestion, this may not be the problem.
One of the most serious ailments is the dreaded column lock. These cars were recalled for this issue and the recall did not work. If your column locks, the fix can be VERY expensive. You should check to see if your car has a column lock bypass (CLB). If it does the column cannot lock. If it doesn't, make sure you get one asap. Do a search and you will find lots of info.
WELCOME!! Best bet,,get it on a lift and examine/lube all the sway bar mounts and suspension points. Look at the body mounting points as well!! Gotta remember,,these are great cars,,,but it IS 12 years old with 180K on the clock!! There are going to be a few places the could have some wear!! Just look at it as a chance to get familiar with your new girl!! HAVE FUN,,keep her on the road!!

Welcome....Squeaks and rattles in any vehicle will drive ya nuts...
First thing I'd do is push down on the fenders to try to isolate the area....Suggestions above are good and GL
