2002 air box
would i gain anything if i put the 2002 air box in place of my 2001 air box?? i know they say the 2002 lets more air in >>> anybody try this on the 2001 yet?? :seeya

I upgraded mine. Any amount of "extra air" you could get thru there should help. It's fairly cheap.
If you don't care how it looks, just cut the 01 box!!!! That's an even cheaper alternative!!

According to the Z06 Engine Chief Engineer we had at our club meeting last fall, he said the 2002 air box lid was worth 2-2.3 rwph. Add a K&N filter and pick up another 2-2.5 rwph. Also, he mentioned removal of precats 5 hp, removal of MAF screen 2.5 hp. 2002 Cam/pistons/head worth 10 hp.

Corvette Fever Magazine did a test and found out that in order to get an appreciable horsepower gain from the '02 airbox that you would also have to install an '02 MAF (mass airflow) sensor with it.
