It's gonna be said so....

Played with it too much and broke it?

Does the DIC display still work?

Any work done to the car lately? Fuses blown? New radio?

ttt...i was supposed to ask about this issue for a friend. it's a little tougher to check for codes cause NONE of the buttons work on theirs either...

True.

Stop by and I'll hook up my ODBII reader. Might be a bit of a drive though.

Same questions and the best place to start. Was anything changed on the car prior to the buttons dying?

Don't know if it will help but here's how to troubleshoot the DIC controls. This is for button#2 but they are all similar and it does provide some info.

I was surprised to see that holding a button for more than 60 seconds could throw a code.

When I did this to myself I disconnected the battery for 1 minute then reconnected. All good.

I'd say it's worth a try.

I hate it when your DIC don't work.
Sorry I don't have an answer on how to fix it. Maybe is she pushes the button the right way your DIC will respond...?

Thanks for this, I'm going to read through it now. It's actually a couple that works with my Mother..their C5 not mine. I was at a family function and she knew that I work on the Corvettes quite a bit(4 of my local buddies have C5's besides this lady and her husband) so she asked if I had any idea about the buttons not working. I told her that I'd search around and see what I could come up with on here.

Donnie

edit: i'll have them disconnect the battery for a little bit just for the heck of it too
