Default OBX Headers

Anybody have these, the price sounds too good to be true. Are there problems with the fit, welds, etc. What about HP gain

Why get chinese OBX when you can get the XS Power (through a vendor here- Superman09) for basically the same price and it's made in the U.S.A?

Buy American.

I have had them with catlees pipe for 6 months and I absolutely love them also. With these headers, CAI, flomasters and a tune on dyno I picked up 38 rwhp, and the sound is awesome
I don't see a reason to pay twice as much for something like American racing headers. Just make sure you also order o2 extensions.

The tune makes such a big difference with this setup. 38 rwhp is great! What were your #'s? Also, what CAI do you have?

CAI is not the best one its dual cone intake which i am going to change to Vararm intake. The # before the tune were 301 rwhp, 312 rwt.
Adfter the tune 338 rwhp and 352 rwt. My vert is A4 if you have m6 it would be about 20 hp more.

So, anyone have an apples to apples comparison OBX vs. XS Power, fitment, welds, finish, gains, etc.?

I have JW's old OBX system. It's awesome. Easy to install...took me 5 hours by myself with a drive on hoist.

JW removed the tab from the passenger side header...as it doesn't come close to reaching the mount under the bellhousing. It also makes it easier to install.

The driver side header is touching my bellhousing, but I've read of many that don't, and I don't believe it touched on JW's car.
My fix for this, is to take a 3"x1"x1/4" piece of metal and put two holes in it and mount it to the mount under the bellhousing and pull the tab on the header over 1/8" to the hole and bolt it up. This will pull the header over the 1/8" it needs to be moved.

My other problem is the junk clamps! Perhaps I just need new ones, so I have a premium stainless set to put on. Tomorrow night I will be sliding it all apart and installing the LC1 and the new clamps. My X-pipe is also touching the differential! But that's because the pipes have slid backwards due to the clamps.

I cut the plugs off my front O2's and put the plugs onto the rear O2's and installed them into the front location. This required drilling holes into the inspection plate under the torque tube...

All in all, these are a great header for half the price of the name brands.

Thanks JW!!

Both are good quality. The welds look the same. Fitment on both is good. With any mod like this you have to expect a little work.

The XS system was a little easier to install. I didn't remove the starter and needed to on the OBX system. Most remove it for both. The OBXs are so long you have to jack the car a little higher than with the XS. If you have a lift this isn't a problem.

The XS system doesn't need 02 extensions and you don't have to drill a hole in the tunnel plate.

The OBX pipes are a little smaller. I took a few comparison pics.

Can I tell a difference in power? Not really. I'm just happy to not breathe those nasty fumes.

Taking those OBXs off was pretty tough though
