Yesterday, I drove the 2003 up and back from just outside Philadelphia to the hills of northern New Jersey, the errand being continued work at a friend of mine's house on preparing my 1985 for flight judging next month.
Driving back late yesterday afternoon, I couldn't stop smiling. It was a beautiful day in the Northeast, sitting in the low 80s: about the best you can expect for August. Of course I had the top down and the driving was just lovely along New Jersey Route 57. The engine sounded wonderful - sometimes that burble at idle and a couple times that high RPM bark. And then there's the wind in the hair and the suspension working just a little bit harder than usual.
What a wonderful car - as Grace gets closer to 40k miles (low for a C5, but high for a 50th Anniversary convertible), I realize how many of those miles have been flat-out great.
Sounds like an excellent ride. Sorry I wasn't there to follow.
Now I'm feeling homesick for New Jersey. In a couple of months the weather is going to be fantastic for cruising. Hard to beat fall in the northeast!
