Hey guys, positive or negative, Id like your opinions on paint color. My 04 is mag red to begin with. It is in the body shop for a complete paint job and the painter wants to know if I want the same color. I at first said yes then thought well I wonder if there is something that looks a lil more red, perhaps leaning more towards a true candy red? something with more depth??
Leave it the color it came with, the Mag Red looks really good and will look even better with the fresh coat.JMO
Gotta Plus your talking about a pretty pricey undertaking to have it done right. Now......if you go ahead and decide to change, might I suggest the BEST color? Black
I guess Im leanin back to OE. I was just on the thread for mag red cars and some of them really pop and others not so much lighting and paint age has alot to do with it Im sure
i have a really nice candy apple red on my harley in my display pic i can send you pics of close ups of it it has heavy metal flake in it looks really good! or one of my dads not looks black from away but get up close and a nice dark red with heavy metal we don't have the best camera but theres a pic of the paints i would love my bike paint on my car
Lol, I was going to text you earlier and ask how your car was coming along Having just gone through the same thing, I went with the factory color (decided against a candy orange) But as already mentioned, with a fresh coat it will look really good. It is very tempting thought to change it out a bit.
I have Mag Red II and was just in a wreck... I only need the rear painted, but I DID, briefly, consider a complete paint job... I thought about other colors... But the only thing that I kept coming back to: I love the Mag Red, I get tons of compliments, and I might really miss it should I change..
So, for me, Mag Red II it is and remains!!

Bottom Line! It's your car, do with it whatever you like. Changing the original paint color will cost more. But, there are alot of great colors out there that you may like better than what you have. I'ts not like the C5 is going to be a collectors car any time soon. I've had a few vettes painted a color that I liked better than the factory color. The hard part was deciding on a color. The good thing was pulling up to a stop light and knowing that I wouldn't be sitting across from a car that looked just like mine. I guess that's why we mod our vettes. It's your car, your choice.
thanks for all the replies, as for the jambs and such, they were doing all those anyways. I see both the argument for and against the stock color.
But in the end, it would be cool to be different than every other vette brother or sister, so I guess custom is where Im headin wish me luck guys
Thanks for the replies
