Default paint color opinion please

Hey guys, positive or negative, Id like your opinions on paint color. My 04 is mag red to begin with. It is in the body shop for a complete paint job and the painter wants to know if I want the same color. I at first said yes then thought well I wonder if there is something that looks a lil more red, perhaps leaning more towards a true candy red? something with more depth??

Stick w/ the stock color, if you ever need work in the future, matching it will be a LOT easier. That's a nice red anyway.

Leave it the color it came with, the Mag Red looks really good and will look even better with the fresh coat.JMO

Gotta Plus your talking about a pretty pricey undertaking to have it done right. Now......if you go ahead and decide to change, might I suggest the BEST color? Black

I have a Mag Red II and I will say that it gets more compliments than any of my buddies vettes with any other color.

Tough call. You'll probably be spending more for a different color because they'll have to repaint the jambs, under the hood, etc.

I'd stick with the original color.

Lol, I was going to text you earlier and ask how your car was coming along Having just gone through the same thing, I went with the factory color (decided against a candy orange) But as already mentioned, with a fresh coat it will look really good. It is very tempting thought to change it out a bit.

I have Mag Red II and was just in a wreck... I only need the rear painted, but I DID, briefly, consider a complete paint job... I thought about other colors... But the only thing that I kept coming back to: I love the Mag Red, I get tons of compliments, and I might really miss it should I change..

So, for me, Mag Red II it is and remains!!

NEVER change the factory stock color of a vehicle.

Bottom Line! It's your car, do with it whatever you like. Changing the original paint color will cost more. But, there are alot of great colors out there that you may like better than what you have. I'ts not like the C5 is going to be a collectors car any time soon. I've had a few vettes painted a color that I liked better than the factory color. The hard part was deciding on a color. The good thing was pulling up to a stop light and knowing that I wouldn't be sitting across from a car that looked just like mine. I guess that's why we mod our vettes. It's your car, your choice.

I'd go with a dark candy, personally. I love the classic looks and it looks so great on the C5 Vette curves.

I'd love to have a c5 that is flat black. But I doubt I'd ever want to go through the hassle. I'd probably stay the same color.

Love the Mag Red color - if it were me, I'd stick with that for your car.

thanks for all the replies, as for the jambs and such, they were doing all those anyways. I see both the argument for and against the stock color.
But in the end, it would be cool to be different than every other vette brother or sister, so I guess custom is where Im headin wish me luck guys
Thanks for the replies

I think that is very cool!

Choose wisely though.

Staying within red or totally different?
