I am proud to say I am now the owner of my dream car a 2004 C5 Convertible
That being said as much as I love the car its time to personalize it a little bit and could use some advice.
I want to do an intake and exhaust, intake is pretty cut and dry however for the exhaust I wanted to do a test pipe. I was just curious if anyone else has done this mod, where they ordered the pipe from etc.
Also I am looking for some input on a car cover... Unfortunately my bike is about all that fits in my garage for now, so I need a good outdoor car cover. What's everyone using and / or recommending?
@rebelheart Thanks, Ill be sure to check that recall.
@redrckt - thank for the input, I keep getting mixed reviews about it, but a lot of people are swearing by it. I figure for the price ill give it a shot. I'm not worried about the legality of it.
Congrats and welcome to CF. Pics are the law on the Forum so post them asap.
Not sure what you mean by "test pipe" either. There is a by-pass mod that directs some of the exhaust past the muffler. Here is a link that shows the details:
the "test pipe" (at least what ive always called it) is basically a pipe that connects to the headers and runs to the x pipe replacing the cats with straight pipe.
I'm working on more pics, they will be posted soon

First of all - unless your car already has an aftermarket exhaust system, it does not have an X-pipe or headers. It has an H-pipe and exhaust manifolds. The Corvette has a true dual exhaust system, with two sets of cats, mufflers, etc.
Simply removing the catalytic converters and doing nothing else is a waste of time, effort and money. I cannot see the benefit or gain. Also - as previously mentioned, it violates federal law. Doesn't mean that others have removed cats, I'm just stating that it is illegal. Also as previously mentioned, you will notice more fuel smell without cats and only slightly more sound, not necessarily better sound, just more.
Save the money, effort and time - get a set a long tube headers like Kooks, a catted X-pipe and an axle back exhaust system.
Congrats.......and welcome! Lots of great Forum Vendors on here who can help you with your needs, including high quality car covers. I think there are a couple of Vendor posts out there right now for car covers.
I'm learning that now, I'm not going to do the test pipe... Just gonna wait save up and do a cat back. There's just so many pipes out there, I'm going to have to do some research, and cost is going to be the biggest factor. Thank you everyone for the input and advice.
