Hey fellow forum members. I'm looking to install a short shifter, and I need some instructions(possibly a link) on how to install it myself. Also is the installation pretty hard? Or is it more time consuming than anything?

You didn't say if you are installing the complete shifter unit or just the shifter itself. In any event, it is time consuming, but well worth it. A critical item is to torque the two bolts and the shifter linkage to 28 ft lbs, with the linkage done last. Make sure you install the pad that comes with the entire unit (or is removed from the existing unit) before you insert the unit. Also, be carefull with the plastic ring that secures the boot to the console, it can break. If you are installing a C6 shifter, you will need another boot or trim the existing one. Instead of installing the short throw shifter, I removed the Hurst from my Z06 and installed the OEM - like it a whole lot more and it brings the Z06 back to stock.
