I have a 97 C5 and the lower windshield moulding has seperated from the cowling. Can this moulding be replaced or is it part of the cowling assembly. If it can be replaced is it difficult to do?
If you can "re-glue" yours back to the cowl that would be the cheapest route, otherwise you have to buy a whole new cowl from a GM vendor. That's what i did, mine was faded anyways...

Clean the weatherstrip edge then apply 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive (black not yellow). Put something like a 5lb. dumbell weight or heavy book on the windshield to hold it down in place. Should be good to go in an hour or two. Good luck.
Not that expensive. Send Gene Culley a PM for pricing. It not difficult to replace. Biggest issue you'll find is removing the wiper arms, put the key and put the level in intermittent mode and let them come to their resting state on the windsheld and shut off the key, put painters tape on the windshield marking their position, remove the caps and nuts then takes just the right amount of light pressure lifting straight off and torque the nuts to 25Nm during installation. It fits to the windshield then folds down into position. Be careful not to damage the windshield. All the water fittings just unplug and transfer over to the new cowl. (Do a search for Gene Culley on C5 General.)
