Definitely agree on the magnet part.... I just try and not let it bother me so much anymore, it would hurt me more to have her just sitting in the garage!!!
Arizona is famous for their state bird (rocks). I learned very quickly to keep a three second gap between me and the car in front. I may get boring at times but it saves the front end and windshield. Also when passing, don't take your time. Then you have the morons who pass under acceleration and then cut back in right away and kick up the rocks from the center of the roadway for which there is no defense. But when you pass them under acceleration, these tires are rock grabbers and paybacks sometimes do have gratification...........
Are you retarded or do you just act that way? Ha ha.
Who said anything about me following either of the two vehicles? In each case, the vehicles were to the side and front of me.
You should know better than to assume at your age; unless of course, you are retarded and you are therefore intellectually marginalized; in which case, I understand your ignorance.
Glad you answered him. I thought for a minute there he was talking to me. I'm so concerned about getting hit in the nose, I stay well behind other traffic. But I do understand how stuff comes out of nowhere and POW. Driving home from Vette Homecoming a plumbing truck well ahead of me had something come flying off and I noticed it coming right for me: swerved onto right shoulder and whatever it was zipped past me. Close though. Safe driving...
Would you mind not posting that pic anymore...when I first saw in another post it I almost got sick....anyway I hope the fix turns out well for you...I had to drink 2 beers after seeing that and reading what happened

Wait till you come up behind a Redneck in a pickup truck, and he "intentionally" runs his tires into some gravel on the side of the road..... (fully knowing it will hit my vette). Luckily it did not hit my car. I swerved, and passed him... JERK !
I think Kale was injecting some humor ......at least that's the way I read it. Not defending just saying.....
Oh and I know what you mean....last year some ricer in front of me in Conn. decided to pass the guy in front of him on a gravel shoulder ! Needless to say I was hit many times ...I slowed down to reduce the amount of damage rather than try to catch him. Anyway Grundy sent someone out and they fixed every chip. At least it was able to be saved and looks fine.
Where I live in N.J. the Tandem Trucks carrying Stone from a local quarry are the worse when they are driving on the highways. They are suppose to have the right equipment to keep any debri from falling out but some could care less. I have had to replace 2 windshields in my work vans over the years both caused by tandem trucks carrying stone. The tandem truck drivers are responsible if they break your windshield so if it ever happens try to get along side of them to get the name of the company and phone number off of there door. It is a good idea to see what mile marker you are at and know where you are at the time to prove wrong doing. I was able to do that once and they made good. I will never forget one day up on the highway when rocks were coming out of a tandem truck hitting cars left and right as far as 20-40' behind just like machine gun fire. Lucky that day my windshield wasn't hit but I am sure someone was being in that line of fire. My bet most of the stones on the highways being picked up by other vehicles and thrown are from these same Tandem Trucks who deliver road stone. Being that building has slowed down with this economy I don't see as many tandems out there as I have seen in the past on the road now.
I feel your pain.....We get the same thing on the Long Island Expressway. Those trucks are the worst and could cause accidents as well as nasty damage.
Now it's worse in Suffolk, because the highway department is scraping the surface to be re-done and they don't clean up all of the debris.
Unless you have some pretty crummy insurance your rates do not go up for a glass claim. Most insurance companies would rather replace a damaged winshield than have you driving with an obstructed view. You ought to call and just ask if your rates increase, they will tell you.

...calm down noobie...don't be a "hothead"...Kale is not retarded...has been here almost 10 years and you have been here 3 months...you don't quite understand his brand of humor...he IS actually funny and well liked here...he was just joking...but he is pretty right, following too close can suck in windshield chips from rocks
I haven't had a rock hit my windshield in years. My theory is that most rocks end up getting washed into the outer most lanes. I stay in the middle lanes as much as possible.
