Air Conditioning: Freon recharge?
Hey Fellas... My '02 C5Z doesn't seem to have the super cold air she once did. I suspect its just the normal freon escape since it's an 8 year old car. I was wondering if others out there had to recharge their system with freon. Thanks

Cool air.
Your car takes R134 coolant, but your better off taking to a A/C shop where the shop can put a vacume on your a/c system and if it's doesn't have any leaks they can then inject a dye that turns a color when it's leaked to the open air. they would then fix the leak then charge the system with R134 and you'll feel the difference. I did !

There are two main problems with C5 A/C systems. Actuators can be bad or need reset and the freon can be low. When freon is low, the passenger side is usually cool and the driver's side is warmer.
