Hi There,
I'am looking to buy a hood seal to keep out dirt & water off my blackwing.I was wondering if anybody has the a/zone part number or Lowes number or GM number?
Thanks

Don't have a part # but go to any home center weather strip dept & you will find what you want. Suggest you clean the area with alcohol b-4 installing. I cut a larger piece then needed & dry fitted it b-4 cutting to size. Suggest u put the sticky side down so that when u close the hood the hood is pressing on the weather strip. Good luck!

also, there is enough room to put 2 pieces side-by-side to really prevent any water from getting at the filter from anywhere in the middle of the hood. the second piece will go over a few screw heads, but with good prep it will stay in place well...I was not satisfied with just 1 piece, but adding the second one did the trick.

Interesting idea! Now that mine has been on for a few years and a little "squished" a second one is not a bad idea. All the kidding and funny comments aside, I really like how this simple mod has kept the engine bay cleaner.

Here is a link to info on the GM seal. Its really nice because it exactly matches the factory fender seals. It's more expensive than most after market seals but some of the less expensive after market seals look out of place because they are bigger and more bulky looking.
Hi There,
Thanks rickko.I saw that seal by doing a search on the forum.Nice looking. When I was using the search feature I saw Bill Curlee had a picture of it where he installed it around the trunk. He stated in his post that this p/n 1040-4247 was for a hood seal for a c6. Looked like it came from the factory on the trunk area.

Hi There sdlong329,
I clicked on ricco's link & saw the m34-117-c4. You are correct it is for a c4 hood seal. B. Curlee must have made a typepo error in his earlier post.
thanks

Regardless of what you use, it works. Keeps everything under the hood cleaner. Got mine from Mid America $15. Looks like doubledmods has the best deal though. Same thing basically.

... but the p/n comes back as 1997-2004 (C5). Perhaps it was originally produced for the C4, was used on C5, and possibly also being used on C6?
