This is a pretty dumb question im sure, but is there a difference between a 3rib rear in a manual c5 then a auto c5 im asking because i need to buy a rear and I have a c5 z06 and I just want to make sure before I try and buy something? Thanks!
Why not buy another 2002-04 Z rear diff? Just make sure it has the 3 rib design. They (02-04 Z's) come standard with 3 rib 3:42's. I don't believe 3 rib design was available on the 01 Z's. Auto matic C/5's don't come stock w/a 3:42 ratio. I'm thinking they are around 3:15's or so.

The 3:42 rear end that is in the auto will be a direct fit on your Z. It may not have the 3 rib case however.
The diff will have a seal plate in it that has to be removed first before mateing it up to your M12 tranny, (No biggie)
